Printer used coronavirus business interruption to invest and modernise <\/em><\/p>\n

Vienna, Austria \/ Amstelveen, Netherlands – D2D (Direct to Document), Austria’s largest transaction printer, has increased its production capacity with the Screen Truepress Jet 520HD+, helping it meet growing demand for short print runs. The printer opted to use the period of the coronavirus crisis to invest and modernise, helping to strengthen its market position and expand its product range.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the pandemic and the reduction in printed communication, we \u2013 like many businesses \u2013 have experienced a decline in sales during the summer. However, we have made the best use of the time and invested in the modernisation of our equipment, ensuring we can continue to deliver the high quality our customers are accustomed to and preparing us for the future\u201d, says Thomas Kaiselgruber, managing director of D2D.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new technology of the 520HD+ allows high quality printing even on coated, untreated paper. This gives us new opportunities to expand our business and meet the wide-ranging marketing requirements of our customers\u201d, says Kaiselgruber.<\/p>\n

With a print volume of around 500 million pages per year, D2D is the largest digital printing company and leading transaction printing company in Austria. It was one of Screen\u2019s first customers in Europe, having purchased a Screen Truepress Jet inkjet press in 2014. It added a Screen 520ZZ in 2018. \u201cWe were convinced of the print quality right from the start, and the machine has proven its durability over the years\u201d, says Kaiselgruber.<\/p>\n

D2D’s customers include Austria\u2019s largest banks and insurance companies as well as major telecommunications and utilities companies.<\/p>\n

Rapid growth<\/strong><\/p>\n

The purchase of the 520HD+ by D2D underlines the rapid growth of Screen\u2019s inkjet technology in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). \u201cIn these markets, the company’s print on demand (POD) business has quadrupled in the last three years and demand for the 520HD+ and other digital inkjet technology continues to grow despite the downturn resulting from Covid-19\u201d, said Patrick Jud, Area Director Screen Europe for the DACH countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
